Yesterday, we officially opened the doors to our seventh pub with rooms – the beautiful George & Dragon in Marlow.

With 200 indoor covers, 50 outside and 17 boutique bedrooms, this one was no small feat. The pub, dining room, and rooms have all been lovingly restored, and the result? A stunning, welcoming space ready to reclaim its place as the beating heart of the Marlow community.

In true Heartwood style, we didn’t just open – we drew crowds! Saint George himself paraded through the streets with his trusty animatronic dragon, while guests sipped on free-flowing Whispering Angel, enjoyed live music from lively duo Peared, and tucked into delicious canapés. The Rebellion Brewery tastings were the perfect finishing touch – plus a huge thank you to Deputy Mayor Jennifer Simnett, who opened the pub after a few words and pulled the first pint behind the bar!

A huge congratulations to everyone who made this opening such a triumph – and a big cheers to General Manager Ben, Head Chef Deb and the team. Here’s to a roaring success at The George & Dragon!
